ORV wurde 1996 als Soloprojekt von [Os]mium gegründet und wandte sich zunächst dem klassischen, minimalistischen Synthiepop zu. 2007 wurde die "Strange behaviour EP" in Eigenregie veröffentlicht, gefolgt vom dEbütalbum in 2011. Das Coveralbum "Not quite" wurde 2013 veröffentlicht und 2017 folgte dann endlich das neue Album Discontinued".
